On Different Wavelengths
03:42
|

To join you is what I want
What to say I know not
There is intuition that you've got
I’m standing here at a full stop
Around the edges I wander
No one else did ponder
The time is gone, I worried too long
I wish I‘d had longer
Would I be being intrusive?
What if that thought was abusive?
I can’t make myself included
So I end up excluded
I can’t look in your face, we’re on different wavelengths
It doesn’t mean I’m less
The clash disables, you can’t see I’m able
To do anything I choose
Ttime goes on, seems to never end
Jealous of attention given
I have as much to say as them
But it’s so hard to interject
Around the edges I wander
No one else did ponder
The time is gone, I worried too long
I wish I‘d had longer
Maybe that thought weren’t abusive
I still worry I’m being intrusive
I can’t make myself included
So as always, I’m excluded
I can’t look in your face, we’re on different wavelengths
It doesn’t mean I’m less
The clash disables, you can’t see I’m able
To do anything I choose
I can’t look in your face, we’re on different wavelengths
It doesn’t mean I’m less
The clash disables, you can’t see I’m able
To do anything I choose
I don’t have to be like to have what you do
Look to the reasons, not the rules
I can’t be the loudest when it's so crowded
But difference gets us through
I can’t look in your face, we’re on different wavelengths
It doesn’t mean I’m less
The clash disables, you can’t see I’m able
To do anything I choose
I can’t look in your face, we’re on different wavelengths
It doesn’t mean I’m less
The clash disables, you can’t see I’m able
To do anything I choose
Look past my face, make me chase you
You work with me, I’ll work with you
Don’t try to medicate me, change or rearrange me
I’m different, not less than you

If That's The Way

You say your lord is our saviour while condemning men and women with his might
All you ever talk about is love but then you’re damaging and damning us with your vice
Say killing’s what your god wants
Say it’s your side that your god took
Whatever your faith, your soul won’t be saved
If that’s the way you look at your book
You say you love your neighbour, that’s some sadistic form of love
Their pain may seem to bring you purpose but there’s an unflattering tinge on the fun
Say killing’s what your god wants
Say it’s your side that your god took
Whatever your faith, your soul won’t be saved
If that’s the way you look at your book
You’re saying that this killing’s what your god wants
You’re saying that it’s your side that your god took
Whatever your faith, your soul won’t be saved
If that’s the way you look at your book
You’re follow powers that lie
You think your almighty wants their whims
You’re don’t do what you would have others do
Your actions make others follow suit
Say killing’s what your god wants
Say it’s your side that your god took
Whatever your faith, your soul won’t be saved
If that’s the way you look at your book
You’re saying that this killing’s what your god wants
You’re saying that it’s your side that your god took
Whatever your faith, your soul won’t be saved
If that’s the way you look at your book
If that’s the way, don’t look at your book
If that’s the way, don’t look at your book

See the actions of who you admire
Filled with examples of their violence
You think they care for your needs
But their way is for their own regime
You have entirely spiteful sight
Because your head’s so far to the right
You look to these views forced
But they’d have another holocaust
Nice people exist from different cultures
You attack, descend like vultures
Tricked, exploited, made a racist
I don’t want this Nazi world you’re craving
Any talk’s enough to make you shout
You see intruders and you say ‘get out’
You don’t have to back their background
Try to talk to people, don’t just talk about them
Nice people exist from different races
You attack with malice and hatred
Tricked, exploited, made a racist
I don’t want this Nazi world you’re craving
You think that it’s a bore, say you’ve heard it all before
You never chose to listen
The innocent have to live through your attacks
Nice people exist from different races
You attack with malice and hatred
Tricked, exploited, made a racist
I don’t want this Nazi world you’re craving
Nice people exist from different cultures
You attack, descend like vultures
Split from the source of all this hatred
It’s all one world we’re raised in
You’re better than this, you’re smarter than this
Don’t let them brand your pride in their image
You’re better than this, you’re smarter than this
Don’t let them brand your pride in their image
You’re better than this, you’re smarter than this
Don’t let them brand your pride in their image
You’re better than this, you’re smarter than this
Don’t let them brand your pride in their image

Playing Soldiers
04:41
|

As you step into new land, don’t you feel like such a hero?
Fighting for a great big cause
As you are near a battle, don’t you feel like such a martyr?
Doing what must be done
You watch all your friends die
And people just like them die
Don’t you feel the glory of your country right up close to you?
You watch your countrymen die
And people like your friends die
Don’t you feel like such a big boy? Playing war games for real
As you’ll step into new land, don’t you feel like such a big man?
Doing what they told you to
As you are near a battle, you look just like cattle
Being led over a cliff
You watch all your friends die
And people just like them die
Don’t you feel the glory of your country right up close to you?
You watch your countrymen die
And people like your friends die
Don’t you feel like such a big boy? Playing war games for real
People are playing soldiers in the land they hold down tight
The practice, it revolves; makes end what could have had more time
When you were playing soldiers as a child, back at home
Did you know you’d dissolve life while victims soldier on?
Now you look down your shooting hand, don’t you see it helped to drain this land of what did flow?
Now an internal battle tells you to carry on or renounce what caused this state
Now you’ll be viewed in grandeur, receive medals by the handful
Does it make up for what’s destroyed?
Who lived and died was chanced, all for someone else’s battle
Is this reflection that you want?
You watch all your friends die
And people just like them die
Don’t you feel the glory of your country right up close to you?
You watch your countrymen die
And people like your friends die
Don’t you feel like such a big boy? Playing war games for real
Men and women cry
Their families have died
Don’t you see that you’re the tool that made this all happen?
As you watch all your friends die
And people just like them die
Don’t you wish country wasn’t there?
As you watch all your friends die
And you make all of them die
Don’t you wish country wasn’t there?
